a rose-like aroma and litchi like flavor. This rose-like aroma led us to name the wine Elysium, Greek for heaven. Drinking this, you can almost feel you have fallen into a rose garden and been transported to heaven. Elysium is used to either accompany or replace dessert. It is wonderful with blue cheeses, with desserts containing red fruits (such as Summer Pudding, an English favorite), with vanilla, with dark chocolate, with ice cream desserts, and candlelight. One favorite is to pour the wine onto vanilla ice cream.

Ramos Pintos non-vintage ruby is a blend of vintages aged in wood for six years or so, where it develops into a fruity, but rounded effort that offers unbelievable pleasure for the money. Aromas include fig jam and black pepper. On the palate it is soft and juicy with layers of fruit and structure. Holds up very well once opened, too. But we can't say it will last long in your cupboard.

Lite golden green in colour the wine has quince and pineapple characters with citrus overtones. The palate is rich and luscious without being cloying with delicious nuts and dried fruit flavours coupled with distinctive Hunter Valley citrus. The wine finishes long and clean with fresh citrus acidity which saves it from being cloying. It works well with desserts (as opposed to being too sweet) and provides a perfect contrast when matched with cheese or pate.
